Free Tier

What’s always free?

On-device transcription and meeting recording are free and unlimited — no account, license key, or credit card required. The speech-to-text model runs on your Mac’s Apple Silicon, so there are no per-minute fees and the audio never leaves your device.

Meeting summaries — with named speakers and action items — are free for light use. What’s metered more tightly on the free tier is the live in-meeting assistant (briefings and follow-up questions during the call) and after-the-fact corrections you ask for in the meeting’s Q&A.

What’s free, what’s metered

AI summaries and the assistant use Google Gemini on transcript text (never audio). On the free tier:

FeatureFree limit
Meeting summaries & named speakersLight use
Voice typing (dictation + transform)200/day
In-meeting briefings5/day
Meeting follow-up questions & corrections5/day
File imports (audio/video)5/day
Connected AI tools (MCP)25/day

Summaries are sized for light use; the tighter daily allowances cover the live in-meeting assistant — briefings, follow-up questions, and corrections — and file imports (importing an audio or video file produces a summary the same way a recorded meeting does, but counts against its own daily limit). Follow-up questions and corrections you make in a meeting’s Q&A share the same daily bucket. Connected AI tools (the MCP server) get their own 25-per-day cap. Each resets at local midnight. Current usage is shown in the menu bar panel.

Launch promo: through October 2026, the three daily-metered features above — briefings, follow-up questions, and file imports — are raised to 10/day. They revert to 5/day on November 1, 2026, and free bring-your-own-provider and MCP allowances will be further limited then too.

What still works after limits are reached?

Everything on-device continues to work with no restrictions:

  • Dictation with the provider set to None — raw transcription without AI refinement
  • Meeting recording — full timestamped transcripts with Mic/Remote channel labels
  • Audio playback and transcript review for past meetings

Only the metered features pause until the next day: in-meeting briefings, follow-up questions, corrections, and summaries past the free tier’s daily allowance.

Upgrading

Two paid tiers lift the live-assistant limits and add your own Gemini key:

  • Light ($6/month, or $4/month billed annually at $48/year — save 33%) — 200 in-meeting briefings and 100 follow-up questions and corrections a month, unlimited voice typing, unlimited meeting summaries, and bring-your-own Gemini key. Limits reset monthly.
  • Unlimited ($18/month, or $12/month billed annually at $144/year — save 33%) — removes the per-feature limits entirely.
