What’s always free?
On-device transcription and meeting recording are free and unlimited — no account, license key, or credit card required. The speech-to-text model runs entirely on your Mac’s Apple Silicon, so there are no per-minute fees and no data leaves your device for core transcription.
Meetings always record, even after daily AI limits are reached. You’ll get a full timestamped transcript; AI enrichment (speaker labels, summaries, action items) is what’s capped.
Daily AI limits
AI features use Google Gemini behind the scenes and have daily limits on the free tier:

What still works after limits are reached?
Everything on-device continues to work with no restrictions:
- Dictation with the provider set to None — raw transcription without AI refinement
- Meeting recording — full timestamped transcripts with Mic/Remote channel labels
- Audio playback and transcript review for past meetings
Only AI-powered features pause until the next day: speaker attribution, summaries, action items, assistant queries, and search.
Upgrading to Pro
